6) Facilities
District 117 will maintain its facilities to promote student learning and safety, and it will keep the facilities as aesthetically pleasing to the community as possible.

a. Maintenance schedule – The facilities are good condition and our goal remains ensuring our capital schedule is appropriate and fiscally responsible. Schedule details are included in the attached spreadsheet. This is a fluid document and schedule.

b. Playing surfaces will be maintained to ensure the safety of our students and community with a close look at Polley Field, McMillan Park, and the ACHS baseball field.

c. Accelerate current schedule to complete asbestos abatement by 2013.

d. Evaluation of security cameras, traffic flows and emergency procedures with local agencies. Implement appropriate and feasible changes. Develop schedule for non-immediate changes.

e. Ongoing compliance with local and state standards.

f. Facilities will be critically examined
  i. Develop space maximization and usage plan for current facilities.
  ii. Begin feasibility study for potential future expansion.
  iii. Examine options for the district properties based on enrollment projections, trends, and the financial conditions of the district.
